MSP- I personally agree with you on the 45 Colt. I personally have no use for it, but I believe H&R/NEF are aiming at the Cowboy Action shooters out there. As I have been reading and hearing the old 45 is making a comeback in the sport.
But still it's a corner market and if this is the case, I ask why mass produce a caliber, that for the most part, appeals to a corner market -where there are limited people pursuing this- and not go to the mass market users who will buy sporting and varmint barrels?
Personally I believe they gave up on the 7.62 barrel too soon, and should have just made it availabile in the barrel program. But it seems they have pulled the plug, and the decision has been made.
In any case, I am glad to see another couple calibers offered, and the return of the 444 is a welcome addition. Hopefully these aren't all that we will see next year...
