Remington 700ADL

  I am in the process of picking up 3 ADL's in 300Win, 270Win and 243 on Thursday or Friday. I will top them with 2 Redfield 3-9X40 Trackers and the 243 with a Nikon Pro Staff in 3-9X40. The all have tupperware stocks. Have u used any of these rifles and if so how did they preform. I am plaqnning on buying the Boyds Ross thumbhole on 2 of them and the 300 put a JRS stock on it. I picked up an ADL this past Spring at Wal-Mart.  Paid $280 for it.  Synthetic stock, 24 inch barrel, matt finish, and 243 Winchester.  Trigger was by far the worst factory trigger I had.  Had it adjusted to 3.5 pounds by a smith.  I'm not a big Remington fan and this rifle has done little to sway me in that direction.  Plastic trigger guard, poor finish, and feeding problems.  That being said, it shoots everything I feed it into an inch or less.  Very accurate.

Some people will say I got a bargin but I believe I got what I paid for.

I own a .30-06 ADL in full Black that I bought a few yrs ago.  I put Williams Peeps on it for days when the weather is too nasty for scopes.  This is the only rifle that I own that doesn't have a scope mounted on it.  It is rugged enough to handle anything mother nature will throw at me.  At least until the stock dry rots, if it ever happens.

  Took my Remington700ADL to the range Saturday and thiis 7mag can drive nails. No group much oiver an inch with a couple 3 shot groups in side 1/2" with the average under an inch. 2-200 yard groups at 2 inches or a little more. I love the rifle. Just dropped it off for a break not so much for the recoil but muzzle flip. Ordered a Elk Ridge laminated rollover and will put that on in a couple of months.  Jess

   I own a  Remington 700ADL in the 30 06 and its a sweet shooter.  Will put two holes on top of each other at 300yds any day of the week. Its a hunting rifle so I let it cool down between shots and it works.  The first shot is the most important shot.   Most accurate rife I have ever shot.    Great Rifle  I use 180 grain for elk and 150 for deer and antilope.   Shot my antilope this yr at 356 yds with 150 grain spear Hornady, went down like a sack of rocks.

i've tuned the triggers on a number of Model 700's in ADL syn' and BDL-grade.    my .30-06 puts those relatively cheap 165 gr' Core-Lokt's right where you want 'em.   my buddy's .22-250 in ADL syn' was a tack-driver that he gave to his brother.    i sold my .270 Win' in ADL syn' before getting it finely tuned, but i expect it would have been a good one from what i saw.   (gave the money to one of my daughters/son-in-laws)    my ADL syn' in .308 will probably shoot with anything that is out there, based on the way it shot for me a couple years ago (it's in storage for now).   

i would not replace the stocks on these rifles.    they are pressure-bedded units that seem to work Very Well.   your own 7mm Mag' tells me in your post below that those 'tupperware' stocks work for you as well as ours have for us.
