Do the Pro Hunter Recoil reducing stocks actually work?
« on: November 02, 2006, 05:31:10 AM »
Do the Pro Hunter Recoil reducing stocks actually work?  I've got a stainless encore with a synthetic stock.  I put a synthetic thumbhole stock on it because I like a thumhole stock.  I was going to put a limbsaver on it just because until I saw pro hunter recoil reducing thumbhole stocks on ebay for about 20 bucks more than what it would take to put a limbsaver on my synthetic thumbhole stock.

I really want to know if the prohunter stocks actually significantly cut down on recoil or if it's all just a sales pitch.

Thanks for the help.

I have a Pro-hunter with the thumbhole stock on my Pro-hunter M/L and I can tell the difference in recoil over my Standard 50 Cal Encore. I also purchased a Pro-hunter stock and forearm for my Encore in 7mm08 and there is almost no noticeable recoil.

The Pro-hunter stock has a Simms pad installed on it as well as the  recoil reducing stock, so I would say you would do well in getting the Pro-hunter stock. JMHO.

I just shot my Encore today after installing the Flex Tech stock.  I must say it makes a huge difference.  150 grains feels more like 100.
