Three of us hunted the Mulchatna herd in 2003, we saw maybe 40 caribou, maybe 8 were good bulls, 2 were around B&C ( we shot em but never had em measured). The next year the 2 guys I hunted with went back and saw 2 caribou, luckily they were both decent bulls and they tagged out. I'm no expert on caribou but that doesn't sound like a heck of a lot for two one week hunts. I understand that the herd has dwindled to the point that you may want to hedge your bets by hunting elsewhere. Check with freshwater adventures in Dillingham, they are an air taxi and were straight with us both times that we went up.
