New Product Line.
« on: November 03, 2006, 03:51:35 AM »
I would like to let everyone know that we will be carrying a new product line starting the end of November.  The product line is called Clearidge Optics.  They are very nice quality scopes and in some very popular sizes.  You can learn more by going to www.clearidgeoptics.com or by going to our website by clicking www.theopticzone.com/clearidgescopes.aspx.  If you have any questions, just let me know.

Jon,

I'm so glad that you have posted your new line.  Many of our members have been asking me about your new line for a while now, but I have been somewhat hesitant because I didn't want to possibly  reveal something that I shouldn't.

Your new line looks very promising, and I am especially impressed with the very high quality of the optics.  95% light transmission?  Wow!  Your new scopes definately seem to be an excellent value!

How does this brand compare to the Simmons line of riflescopes?

In my opinion, no comparison.  Our line is optically must better than the Simmons line of riflescopes.  But that is me making that judgement.

Jon, I know you recently dropped the Mueller line of scopes but how do these compare?  Thanks!

I am sorry, but I will not compare our scopes to the Muellers.  We are both sponsors on this site and I don't feel that that would be right.

Not necessarily as a moderator, but as a neutral observer, I have looked at the specs of the Jon's new line and his scopes seem comparable to the Elite 4200s and Nikon Monarchs.  Why?  Well, both the Elite 4200s and Nikon Monarchs have 95% light transmission - which is VERY high and suggests excellent optical quality.

Don't even think about simmons.  The only comparison is the price, but that's because Jon apparently has no middle men to mark up the price of his scopes.  You can't compare a simmons to Jon's new line.  Again, I have not actually seen Jon's line, but I HAVE looked at the specs.

They look good, but the 6.5X20 is within 50-75 bucks of the Nikon Mon. or Bushnell 4200. How rugged are they, brightness is
good, but how rugged are they?

nomosendero,

The Ultra XP's tested to withstand 1000G's which is equivalent to a .375 H&H Magnum.  The Ultra RM model has been tested to withstand 800G's

Jon

After doing some talking with a very knowledgeable female on your end I was convinced enough to purchase 2 Clearidge Ultra XP 4.5-14x40, Duplex, Matte scopes. At $300 each (With GBO coupon code...THANKS!) seemed to be a good deal. I really hope they are all that is being said about them. Iv used Leupold VX-II in the past and was looking to move into a Nikon Monarch before deciding to give the Clearidge a go. I'll post some pics when they get here.

Well here is the "Locobombero Nitty Gritty" review of the Clearidge scope Updated: 01/05/07

Ok I had placed a relatively long winded review of these scopes that really took up a lot of space. I have since mounted, shot, and tested theses scopes on a .243 and a .308 and have decided to clarify my opinion of theses scopes and take up less room........
For my hard earned dollar these scopes are easily on the top of my list for future purchase! Optics are on par if not a smidgen clearer then a Nikon Monarch. Turrets have a great feel and audible "click" and setting were repeatable on both scopes returning to Zero every time! Fit and finish as good as any other high end scope. Adjustments are smooth and consistent! I for one will have more of these scopes!

Now for some pics!

I would think the Ultra XP would hold up to a Muzzleloader with 150 grains of powder.

Jon, these seem to be excellent quality scopes, and it really says a lot by the dedication how you are backing them up.
I do have a question though, how thick are the cross hairs on the 6-20 Duplex models? Is it more of a Fine Duplex?

I understand that these Clearidge scopes have been nominated as contenders for Field & Streams prestigious "Best of the Best" award in optics.  That's one heck of an honor!  These scopes have barely hit the market and already they are making a name for themselves.  Congratulations Jon!
