Hi.  I'm a new guy on the block, but a long time martini admirer.  Have several, and enjoy them a lot.  Thought you might be interested that a fellow in Ohio named Lester McFarland runs a small machine shop operation called Highland Technologies.  He tells me that he's planning (making drawings, etc) to put the Martini back into production.  He plans to make precision actions and rifles, in a variety of calibers, engraving, etc.

Regards,
kbmoly

Fred at Bullberry also does Martini work. Quite good from what I've heard.  I have a quote but haven't sent the gun yet.
If I have seen further, it is because I have stood on the heads of Giants - Sir Isaac Newton

I have never heard his name mentioned in Martini circles before, I'll have to get a hold of him...TC wise he is well known.

I will tell you I have seen alot of guys who work on Martini's but not a great number who know what they are doing.

The Martini Snider resource list has been updated.  Lots of new links added.

Lot's Snider stuff has been added

A note on gunsmiths.    Any competant gunsmith can do the basic work on a Martini.  There are very few who know the fine points of Martini work. Those specialist are the Gunsmiths who I have listed.

If you have any regular sources of Martini or Sniders or related articles and they are not on thelist, please drop me an email.

Atlanta Cutlery and IMA both are offering Martini's and Snider right now.

DD,
Robert Snapp, one of the directors of the American Custom Gunmaker's Guild specializes in building custom Martinis.  I can get you the information tomorrow, but his rifles are truly something to behold.

Yukon Jack, I know Bob Snapp quite well.  We are collaborating on the New Martini Cadet.

But Bob is not on the internet so he isn't on this list.

DD,
I originally posted last night, but didn't have the mailing addy, I edited the post this morning and included his address and phone #.

I don't know if that is appropriate or not, if you think I should remove that, it won't be a problem.

Snapp is one of the grand masters of custom rifle building.  He's a character too.  I sat with him for a while at the Banquet this year in Reno.  He was very cordial and made my wife and I feel welcomed.

You are indeed a fortunate fellow to get to work or have work done by/with Bob Snapp.

Jack absolutely don't edit Edit your post. Leave Bob's contact info up

I use only Internet links on my list with one or two exceptions because those sites are in the Public domain.  Those not in the public domain take to much work to keep up with, so I don't use them on this list.

By the way I got 8 new links after this posting so I have updated the list again this afternoon.  That's the most I have ever got except for when I started the list.

Double D,
I'm interested in converting my old martini #12 from straight grip to pistol grip. Is this easily done, and can you refer me to anyone who might have the parts, or do the work?
 Thanks,
Ballard, the great American Rifles!

Sorry Hammer Lester has moved on to bigger and better things, he says someday, but he is also not the first to say someday.  We had another guy for say $98,500 plus the cost of the rifle he would tool up and make one.

The truth is there are to many old BSA sight around for $350 for anyone to tool up and sell new ones for $1200.

I do think there is a market for the Large Francotte pattern Martini at $1200.
