I've used Rocky Mountain Premier 100 gr. three blade for years, this year I am trying something new. Rage two blades. I haven't shot any thing yet but the fly real good, hit the same as my feild points.

I was using 100gr Thunderheads and they worked great. But since, I've switched to 125gr Sonic Heads by American Broadhead Company, these broadheads  shoot just like a field point so no extensive tuning required.

I work with a guy that's a field rep for red talon. He gave me a set, they have helical blades and are supposed to instantly stabilize the shaft. Gonna try them out and see how it goes.

I got 2 deer so far this seson. i shot a doe at about 25 yards with a magnus buzcut 100gr, hit her a little far back but punched the tip of the lung and it went all the way through and got stuck in her knee on her back leg on the other side, she ran about 100 yards and went down, it was a quortering towards shot. the other was a 6 point buck he was right under my stand when i let him have it, went in just to the right of his spine sliced the tip of his heart, came out the chest by his left front leg and stuk in the ground far enough he broke the arrow off. im goin back out tomarow huntin but im takin a crimson tallon, i had to buy a pack they look like there devistating. if i hit one with it this year ill let yall know.

I been using the cheap wal mart easton titanium 100 grain broadheads for many years now with no complaint. Between 8 and 9 bucks for 3 0f them and they fly great and have held together on the deer I have shot with them. As for mechanicals, the Rocket steelhead 100's never let me down.

I probably have owned almost every broadhead other than mechanical (losers).  I antelope hunt in western Kansas and really like the way the 4- blade 90gr MUZZY broadhead performs.  When hunting deer I switch to the MUZZY 100 gr 3-blade.  These are tough, consistant, broadheads that fly very well for me with an old MQ-1 Mathews. :)

I use 2 kinds. Nap Thunderheads 125 gr for deer and elk and Steelforce Hellfire Titaniums. With these 2 you will never, and I mean never need to worry about stopping something. Cheers.

I have always used the 10 dollar jobies at wally world 100 gr. This year 3 blade Rage, I bought them last year at the end of season. I only was offered a shot at a coyote I thought why not last day of season, I wanted to see what they would do. Well just as I released the arrow the yote took a step so yes a gut shot. The yote went 30 yards mostly in circles trying to figure out what the heck it was dragging. The entrance hole was about 3 inches or so which had to do with the yote not helping the hole any. The exit my geesh I literally stuck my entire fist through it, its entire gut bag was empty they all fell out. I can't wait to see what they do to a deer. Did you know that the guts of a coyote unraveled can reach the moon from here, well maybe not the moon but my lord they were strung from heck to breakfast.

Crimson Talon 100gr. High-Speed bow and crossbow broadheads. Used one with my crossbow and it put the deer in the freezer. Good enough for me!  ;D

Rage. I personally use the 3 blade but a friend uses the 2 blade and it leaves just as nasty of a wound. You get more of a big hole with the 3 blade and more of a big slit with the 2 blade. Almost looks like they got hit with a slug. I'm sold!

Thunderhead 100....Dont worry about it not opening.....Dont worry about it doing the job as long as I do mine.  Plus Wally-world carries the 3 packs at a prretty reasonable price, and ive had luck resharpenening the blades by using vice grips with a stone and then finishing them on crock stix.

I take back everything I said about Rage. I had a great hit on a doe and the thing bounced off the deer, No I didn't shoulder blade it.

i've shot the rocky 3-blades, thunderhead 3-blades, slick trick 4-blades, muzzy 4-blades, rocket expandables, and the new G5's.  i've killed animals with all but the G5's.  all in 100 grains.  i can shoot them all well, but i get the best arrow flight witht the new muzzy 4-blade 100's.  i think most all broadheads will kill an animal, it's the best combination to get your arrow to fly like a dart and hit the mark that counts.  just my opinion though!  just shoot straight with whatever tip you use.
how fast are you shooting with those muzzy's

Totally agree. I shoot the 85 grain and nothing has ever lived long enough to ask what I was shooting. I've broken bone with them, I've recovered and reused heads that were snapped off with some shaft in the animal. Short off hitting rocks after they pass through game, I've had zero issue with the Thunderhead. They are available just about anywhere, and they are very cost friendly. My best friend turned me on to them a few years back because they flew so well for a fixed head. Cheers and Happy New Year all.

I was stuck between Slick Tricks and Steel Force Phat Heads.  Both look to be excellent heads, but went with the Phat Heads and love them!  They fly great and are super tough with a great guarantee.  Nothing but cut-on-contact for me.  Hope to get good enough with my recurve to hunt with it soon, and I'm sure the Phat Heads will be what I go with for it too.

Can't hardly wait on deer season and the 2016 Presidential Elections...

Muzzy 75gr and swithcing to 100gr this year.

No more mechanicalc for me. I tried them years ago several deffrent brands, if they hit bone other than rib bone they bley apart. And they dont always fly like field points either.

I will stick with Muzzy, good quality and about 1/2 the price of other quality broad heads. My son uses 100gr Thunderheads and loves them. My other son uses 75gr Muzzy and shooth clean through every deer (5) and he wont switch.

Changed my mind about the Simmon's Land Sharks.

Traditional arrows wear the Zwickey Eskimo 165 gr and the modern arrows are wearing Carbon Express Torrid 100 gr.

I'm switching to http://www.simmonssharks.com/node/2 the as the gallery pictures are evident of what they do.  I will be re-adjusting my sights for the 165-gr Land Shark BH as seen on the web page as SB-20

What monster are you hunting that you will need a 165gr broadhead?

No monster needed, if you look at the site and would like to give Dave a call he can explain everything to you.  The 165 gr is the most popular BH they have, even though the 125 gr would work just fine probably and that is the one I probably will use anyway.  I have to buy new arrows anyway if I'm going up to the 125 gr anyway.  Both of these will work just fine for complete pass throughs, as I know some one that has been testing these in the 125 gr Land Sharks.

Jerry Simmons who created these some 30 odd years ago, just last year in his young age of 78 took 8 whitetails down south.

G5 MONTEC for me 100grain. I shot a doe a couple weeks back, and it passed through so fast I wasn't sure if I hit her or missed. Got the arrow home laid out a stone sharpened the head back up in about a minute back to razor sharp. A buddy of mine shot 6 hogs in Texas with the same Montec before he had to throw it out.

Update from 2011 season.  I took two deer with Slick Trick brand heads this year.  One with a 100 grain Magnum and one with a 100 grain GrizzTrick.  Both performed astoundingly well.  GrizzTrick deer was down and out in less than 20 yards.

Yep, those slick tricks are the ticket.  Last buck I shot didn't go 15yds and fell over dead, just tore up both lungs. Although I think he got to the fenceline and knew he wouldn't make it across the field so he didn't bother...
