Swedish Rolling Block 8x58 RD (Danish Krag)
« on: November 10, 2006, 02:08:32 PM »
I recently purchased a Swedish Rolling Block in 8x58 RD caliber.  I think this is the same as the Danish Krag?  I could'nt pass it up, since it is in mint condition and any Swedish rifles that I have shot were very good shooters.  If anyone has any experience with this caliber(loading data, pressure levels etc.) I would appreciate any info. you can pass along.  I will be loading it for it and am not looking for high velocities.  The action and barrel seem to be stronger then some of the Remington No.1 rifles I have seen.    Thanks,  Walt

When I traveled all over Canada in my work, I met some characters that shot this rolling block rifle and caliber.

They made cases from .45-70, and loaded cast bullets.

Thy this websight: http://www.rebooty.com/~dutchman/858rd.html for loading data and info.
