Any particular reason it's a "convincing argument"?  I see other loads on those pages where the bullets have penetrated more (and less) and bullets that have retained more (and less) weight.

If I was hunting varmints, I would want something that blew up explosively on small animals and had a low risk of richochets.

If I was hunting larger game, then the 55 gr. FMJ round showed a similar wound cavity, but with deeper penetration and more retained bullet weight...

Maybe I missed the question...

got to witness the round this weekend
my son took his first deer with it
about 90 yards out, 2" behind the left shoulder, blew a good 1" plus hole throug the inside part of the ribs, through the organs, same size through the other rib cage and through the other shoulder...

jumped straight up and ran about 40 yards and piled up
