Leupold's have been my one and only preferred brand of scopes for many years.
If I was putting a scope on my main hunting rifle, I'd choose a VX-2 or VX-3, probably a 3X9X in the VX-2 or similar in the VX-3 (3.5X10X).
But if economics was the goal and getting two or three or four Leupies to put on Handi-barrels, I'd also pick a VX-1 3X9X, matte, heavy and/or wide duplex, or the VX-2 (if not the VX-1) in 4X12X for an HB varminter.
However, for my main bolt-hunting rifle, I'm looking seriously at the Leupy Euro-30mm scopes, likely the 3X9X, in a flat matte finish with a German #1 or #4 reticle.
If my Handi-rifle was my main goto rifle and a boltgun wasn't part of the collection, I'd still go with the Euro-30 or VX-2 on my favorite game-getter Handi.
I won't compromise with Leupies. They're a must have piece of equipment.
