Value of Hopkins and Allen ?
« on: November 12, 2006, 09:54:09 AM »
I have a Hopkins and Allen model 29, 50 cal.  I beleive it was made some time in the 60's  ?
I was thinking of selling it but don't know what a fair price is.
It is in pretty good shape, missing the forend tip cap and has some scratches.
Bore looks pretty good, maybe some light suface rust in bore.

I don't think that you see many of these out there, though Sam Fadala's BLACK POWDER LOADING MANUAL,  from 1990 does  show load data for it. I have a 1973 ed. of THE SHOOTER'S BIBLE. It does not show your model 29. It does show a full stock "MINUTEMAN" model for $179.95. The other H&A  models shown are one O/U rifle and a number of underhammers.
