i would like a 300 win mag in a handi and a 6.5swede and maybe a 7.5x55

Terry

The Sweed & the 7.5 are doable...the 300 Win Mag isn't a reality..

THE 308 MARLIN EXPRESS
With ballistics comparable to the 308 Win., this brand new cartridge is the highest performance round ever made for a traditional lever action rifle!

Last year, in partnership with Hornady, Marlin introduced the XLR Series of lever-action rifles, built to take full advantage of the improvements gained with Hornady’s LEVEREVOLUTIONTM spire-pointed flex tip ammunition.

Teaming up once more with Hornady, Marlin announces the debut of two new rifles chambered for the new Hornady 308 Marlin Express, a hot .30 caliber rimmed cartridge designed for maximum velocity, flat trajectory and smashing downrange energy.

Being that the Handi always seemed better suited to a rimmed cartridge, I think that Marlin being the parent company of the Handi, a 308 Marlin Express would be a good choice. Along with the 7-30 Waters and 225 Winchester.

Just wanted to ad my voice to the other who mentioned the 7-30 Waters caliber in at least a 20" barrel - I think it would be perfect! 8)

I'd LOVE to see a 410 slug heavy barrel, with iron sights( and optional scope of course), and maybe a 308 win with iron sights as well..

Oops forgot about 2 opther cals I'd like also...

32 cal muzzle loader, and maybe the bringing back of the H&R revolver, in 32 H&R...

A single shot handgun like TC does with the Encore for those of us in shotgun/handgun country. I would be first in line for a .270 in that.
But my number one wish is for the correct thread on the sidekick ramrod. At least include an adapter with the gun so I dont have to order a $1 piece on the internet.

no plastic parts! I would gladly pay an extra 10-30 bucks to get aluminum or steel instead of plastic. (don't know what it would actually cost, but surely economies of scale would work in our favor) can we also get a buttplate or at least a decently finished buttpad?

The past offered steel trigger guard and forend spacer were over $70 for the pair, but are now discontinued.

How about a design change that would have the barrels thread into a pivot block. The barrels would be prechambered and thread in like the Savage bolt gun. Using a lock nut and a head space gauge to set headspace would really open up rebarreling options. Paul P.

32" octagon barrel with the various .45 case lengths.
Barrels that can be either/or ejector/extractor, i.e. remove (1) roll pin to disable eject function

Just thought I would plug this in here, as it's getting some good feedback.
And if NEF/H&R...or should we say Marlin ever looks at this thread it's a good indication from the Shotgun users here.
Thanks to CM for starting the thread:

How about some Pardners that are drilled and tapped for scope mounts!  Maybe even bring back the Tracker I barrels (D&T'd of course). .35 Remington would be nice too.

The Remington 222 in its day was and still is the best 250 yard 22 centerfire rifle. I would buy one from H&R right now if I could. It would go real good with my Ruger 204. ;D The Rem. 222 is one I hope makes a come back real soon. There is just some guns you should NEVER LET GO OF.  >:(                                Later. Can't imagine why nobody mentions the .460 S&W (which would allow .45 LC & .454 Casull) as a new caliber for the Handi Rifle.  If Indiana DNR does go with officially allowing the "handgun cartridge in a rifle"
stuff for the 2007 deer season, that would seem to me to be a GREAT choice.

like cookie said - tighten up tolerances on barrels, fully interchangeable barrels, like the Contenders.
MORE .357 barrels. More Laminated straight grip stocks.  More lightweight offerings (slimmer contour barrels).
.30 Carbine,  .32 Mag.   30-40   Iron sights, preferably Williams peeps on more barrels.

Okay, I'm sure it's been said here before but I'm gonna throw my opinion out.

I would like to see them offer more barrels in the stainless steel Bull barrel set up. I personally would buy one in .308 Win, .204 Ruger and .22 Hornet as soon as they start making them. I would also consider a 22-250.

I'd also like to see them chamber the .17 Remington round. I'd buy one of those as soon as they made it also.

Those are the only set ups I'm really interested in. So until H&R starts making them I gues I'm done buying H&R stuff.

now that i have established the fact that their are some big bore nuts here i have a question for you
how do we get H&R/NEA to build either side by side or over under big bore rifles, since they have a place to start already with the handi.
i would buy one if they can make it with the price comparable to the handi
just think NOT BOOM------------------------------------------------------BOOM
but BOOMBOOM

Regulating a set of (rifle) barrels, SS or O/U can take MONTHS of labor.
That's why the classics have prices that require the budget of a medium sized country. ;D

I talked with Diana Lynch one night, I brought up the .35 Whelen and boom out it came.  Too bad it did not last longer.  The only thing I would like to see would be to bring back the ejectors.  In my openion the Handi as a hunting gun has been ruined.  Extractors are for shooting benches not for the field.

It would be nice to see a heavier caliber, (ie .35 Whelen, .338-06, or .338Win Mag) but I can live with the current offerings.

I would like to see a handgun based on the handi frame, similar to the contender/encore. I am sure these would sell very well. I know I would love to have one.

i am writing this in the hopes that MANAGEMENT might see it.
i was thinking about a single shot rifle, not that i needed one, just plain wanted one.
while looking at the offerings i was pretty well settled on a rifle, then i heard Marlin owned
H&R/NEA that did it, i bought the Handi, because i have been around Marlin rifles all my life,
with NO problems, have a 39A 22lr my dad bought in 1957 that has never been apart,
opened the lever and washed out with GASOLINE OR KEROSENE, put in some 3 n 1 oil
and it is Still good to go.
know i hear the problems with a "Marlin" product
PEOPLE WILL PAY FOR WHAT THEY WANT, and will get it some where.
i am not saying build every dream that every one has, but fix the problems
I am an ejector barrel person some are extractor people, what could it cost to make it an option,
i would pay more for ejectors
some people will pay more for better fit, like a CLASSIC HANDI
some will pay more for different cal.
how about taking a pole on what people want, give us the option to pay more or not
thanks for the listen

Rex, those type requests have been going on for years. Every once in a great while they will listen a little. Overall, they will do what
Marlin wants them to do, which is very little in the way of change.
