Dear H&R.

Please research  modern manufacturing practices, namely, interchangable parts.  And put iron sights on everything with a factory  supplied see through scope mount.  You'll blow out the competition.  See how simple that is?

Unfortunately only distributors can place special orders, the minimum quantity for special orders is either 250 or 500 units depending on complexity. The more H&R has to invest in tooling, the more units a distributor has to commit to.

I think H & R is doing it right!

It could always be better, but then what ever they add will have a price and that is what the number one draw is for the Handi Rifle.

It's still the best bang out there for the buck, and I see Rossi has added a lot of new variations, but have they have they moved that far ahead of H & R if at all?

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

What about trying to get a group of orders together for a specific older caliber that is in low production? Try it by posting across multiple boards to get enough people. We could have a central point (Like a Facebook page) to keep track.  I'd like it if the first caliber we aimed for was 25-20, but a 25-35 would be nice to have too.

That's been tried more than once, first of all, everyone must come to agreement on the chambering, but even that's never happened.  A minimum of 250 rifles, not just barrels,  must be ordered by a distributor for them to even consider it, and that would be for a common bore that they have tooling for, 500 would be the minimum for something not so common, the last is the 300 AAC which appears to have failed so far.  :-\

there are a couple of 45ACP Handis floating around that members had built.  I am thinking about adding another to the list.

Since the ammo is again in production, I would love to play around with a 5mm Remington Magnum barrel for the Sportsters.  Reads like it would be a great round for calling in the little dogs that live around here.

Re-introduce stainless guns and add additional calibers available in S/S, some with iron sight options. It's my understanding that 416 S/S is easier to machine than moly and not expensive.  Curious why they ceased production when stainless is such a popular option...

Would it be any easier to get them to do a special run of accessory barrels in 25-35 than finished rifles?

My main wish is for shorter hammers that are drilled and tapped for a universal hammer spur, similar to how CVA does it on their Apex rifles. ;)
