Uncle Mike's Hammer Extension?

I feel it's better to install them with the open side toward the muzzle. Is that correct?

Over the top is stronger, but under allows more clearance for the scope.

I saw where one of the forum's member had the fingers crack on a couple of his and someone commented that the inertia of the hammer going forward and slamming to a stop caused it. That's why I thought it went the other way.

The trick is to not get it so tight that you stress the steel by spreading it , just snug enough to hold in place .

I'd call that a good price considering the sell em for $10! A Bass Pro, isn't that a tournament fisherman!!
