South Africa lion hunts
« on: November 18, 2006, 02:31:55 PM »
I was watching Tracks Across Africa recently and host Craig Boddington was talking a little bit about lion hunting in different parts of Africa.  He cautioned hunters considering booking a lion hunt in South Africa, stating that many hunts there are done with captive reared lions and hunters should look in to what they're getting ahead of time.  Is this true or does Boddington have his facts mixed up?

I'm not planning on booking a lion hunt anytime soon, just curious.

For the most part he is correct, though a very few lion hunts in RSA are legit.
There are as well a very few captive hunts that "nearly" qualify as free range. And example of these is Tam Safaris.
