Which one! ?
« on: November 18, 2006, 04:31:43 PM »
I have a contender with 3 different barrels.

I am contemplating either getting a new G2 or an Encore.

I will set the next one up with a rifle stock and appropriate barrel.

I am at a loss as to what to get! Tough decision...

any recommendations on which one? What would you do?

an no, getting both is not an option :(

If you want a bigger caliber - magnum or whatever - go with the Encore.  It has a larger margin of safety built in.  For rim fires, and smaller calibers, the Contender or the newer G2 will work fine.....

I'd probably opt for the Encore.  Buy it, and hand it right back to the guy and tell him to do a trigger job on it.  Every stock Encore tirgger that I've tried has been crap.  Creepy and heavy.  After a bit of work, it's as close to perfect as they come.  The lack of a .22lr barrel option is a problem, but handloading can produce a lot of low-cost ammo for any caliber.
Searching for the perfect left handed revolver.....
