First Deer With My Contender
« on: November 20, 2006, 03:03:12 PM »
Got my first Whitetail this morning, didn't hold out for a buck a mature doe.
The 7mmtcu loaded with 120 nosler ballistic tips performed great.I think I'm hooked.
Tommorow it's the 6.8 carbine's turn.

The carbine got a 9 point today. Season is over for me . but it was a good one.

Congrats! What barrel length? Where was the shot placement and how far did the deer travel after being shot?

Congrats!  These Contenders can get to be addicting.  Since starting to shoot them I probably do at least half of my hunting with them now.  Prairie dogs, coyotes, fox, antelope, deer, and elk all fall to the easy to carry single-shot wonders.  Everyone ought to have a half-dozen or more barrels.
