as the proud new owner of a .454 Ruger Super RedHawk, I think it's only natural that I should get a companion rifle in that caliber. The only thing I can find is the Puma M92 in various configurations.
So I've a few questions for the experts:
1)How are Puma rifles? The only levers that I own are Marlins, and the only ones I've shot are Marlins and Winchesters. How do Pumas compare?
2)Is there a good reason to go longer than 16" on the barrel? The 454 is fast enough out of a 7.5 inch barrel to take anything I'd ever shoot at pretty respectable distances. I'm leaning towards the 16" for quick handling and compact size. Would a longer barrel increase range and decrease flash/kick enough to be worthwhile?
3)Will the M92 in 454 casull load/chamber/fire/extract .45LC's?
4)Any reason to not go with the stainless?
5)Anything else I should know?
Thanks much for your help.
