Circassion walnut
« on: November 23, 2006, 03:35:03 AM »
Remember a few yrs. ago Ruger made an express rifle in '06 .270 and 300-338 mag.?They were made only about 2 yrs. then dropped.Nice circassion walnut and they looked just like the magnum safari express rifles.Well Cabelas sent me a flyer with a m77 Deluxe offered in .270 or 30-06,Circassion walnut and ebony forend.Looks good in the picture, but $760.00 ouch, but thats less than the $1000.00+ Ruger wanted for the express.

I was at Cabela's the other day and saw these rifles. I wasn't aware of them before going there. They say they're a Cabela's exclusive. Very sharp looking rifles. The metal polish and blueing seemed to be higher grade also. The ebony tip is a nice touch too.

I would love to get one, I saw them a few years ago but they were way out of my price range then being in college still.  But I think i could get one now if only I could find one around here.

Do all cabelas have them?
Are they new production or just old guns still in the box?
Does cabelas ship to other ffls?

Here's a couple shots of my .270 M77-II "Hi Grade" that I bought at the Cabelas here near Ft. Worth when they had 'em on sale.  It's got the Circassian walnut stock w/ebony tip, very highly polished metal fitted nicely to the stock.  Ruger records dept told me it is a limited production rifle available in .270, 30-06, and .338 mag......., Cabelas has/had all three.  I'm buying another if they go on sale again.

Forgot to mention when I posted the pics......, Cabelas had 'em on sale for about $125 more than the price of the plain-jane M77-II in walnut/blue.
