The Winchester 94. It is a stronger action and side by side is just as accurate and steady as the Marlin. Both are excellent rifles. I have 5 winchester 94s and have never had a problem with a loose screw, barrel falling out, action coming apart, trigger dropping out, action or barrel blowing or anything else.
If you are going to compare then please compare comparable rifles. Same barrel length, same caliber, same age, same amount of useage, same sights, same type of rifling, etc. If the rifles are not comparable you can not have a valid comparison.
I have had Marlins and think they are a great rifle. I just prefer the Winchester. If someone gave me one of the new Marlins I would be a very happy, very grateful camper (and hunter and shooter) but I'm not going to put one of my Winnies in the safe just so I can shoot something else.
