Wow!!! what a great hunting adventure.  Youl always hear 44 is not enough for bear defense but I guess at swatting distance they can get the job done with a hard cast bullet.  Fishing on the Kenai this summer we saw many sidearms and lots of them were what I'd call subcaliber.  Guys carrying them said they just used them to fire warning shots.  A 44 can't be used for that purpose?

I don't go for the "warning shot" stuff.  If I think I'm in enough danger that I have to pull out the heat I'm darn well gonna use it to the fullest extent, whether it be "subcaliber" or not.   :o
