Thanks, I will print this for him.
We discussed bullet weights in great detail before the hunt. I usually cast our hunting bullets but this year we went with factory loads. When we set up for a handgun hunt we pick prime areas in heavy brush where the deer will have to pass within 50 yds or less of our blind. Our hunting area is next to Crane Naval Weapons Depot so we must drop the deer before it jumps the fence onto government property. We felt the 125 JHP placed in the lungs would do this faster than a heavier bullet with more penetration but less expansion.
The buck passed within 20 yds and even though the bullet hit farther back than he wished the buck dropped in less than 25 yds. The damage had to be seen to be believed.
He is a remarkable shot with this pistol. Here is a pic showing a few of the many squirrels he has taken with the GP 100. I cast a 120 grain TFN 9mm bullet and push it with 3 grains of Bullseye in a 38 special case for squirrel hunting. This is a super accurate load that gives about 750 FPS and is lethal on tree rats.
