Scopes and the Black Hole
« on: November 28, 2006, 02:57:42 PM »
I have quite a few handguns with 2x Leupold scopes and have always had good luck with them, no problems.
The other day I had the opportunity to look through a couple of Burris and Bushnell scopes, the Burris being the 2-7 power.
I immediately noticed that with the Burris it was extremely easier to find the cross hairs in that black hole  than the other two scopes, especially easier than the Leupold 2x.
Has anyone else noticed this?
Does anyone have any experience with the Burris scopes?
Thanks,

I have the Bushnell 2x6 and a 2x Leupold.  The Bushnell on 2x is much easier to line up.

I have a Burris 3x-9x on my Contender.  I really like it, but I had to send it back right after I mounted it.  The crosshairs were canted to the right, if my memory is right.   I got it back and have never had a problem with it.

As far as target/crosshair acquisition, it's OK, but nothing compared to the Swift 2x that I have on a different barrel.

I have a Burris 2-7x and a Leupold 2x. I like the Leupold better.  The Burris is nice for longer ranges. Lining them up at 2x is not difficult, better or worse with either scope.

I either have or have had Leopold, T/C, Burris, Weaver and Bushnell handgun scopes.  I always thought the Leupold was the most forgiving in looking through.
