Scope question
« on: November 29, 2006, 02:18:15 AM »
Quick question.
A have a Leupold 1-4 x 20 I just put on my new Savage ML10.
At lower powers 1-2, I can see the barrel in the scope. Is this normal? I goes away on 4 power..
I dont see it on my Marlin 45-70 with fixed 2 power but that gun has a much shorter barrel..
I suspect normal but wanted to ask..
Thanks in adavance.

It is normal.  I see the barrel and front sight on my 22" Marlin 1895 and a Leupold Vari-X II 1-4x20mm at low magnification.

It is normal with a longer barrel.  ;D

I have a 1-4x Redfield on a mod 70 featherweight w/ 22" barrel and the same thing. I keep mine set on 3x and forget it. I have a 2 3/4x Redfield on my 30-06 w/24" barrel and can see the front sight but it's real blured and doesn't bother anything.
