Have not been out yet will go out Sat for a while. The normal rifle season about Tapped me out funds wise and most of that went into the gas tank. Oh had a couple with the boys after hours but even then it was two drinks and on to home.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Got two fawns with my muzzle loader, but it was during the regular season.  Missed a doe during the ML season.  It ain't over yet.

Damn was going to go out tomorrow  :-[ went and ran a couple of errands today and stopped at the hardware store. Came out and hit the key and nothing. Battery is a Interstate and it had plenty of juice in it the way the lights looked so the starter must have went. Had it towed to the garage and they are super busy will be next week sometime if I am lucky to get it back so that may screw up the Tzone hunt too.

I will hunt this Sat and Sunday. Its time to try some new areas. Deep in the Cheg. National Forest by Clam Lake. In my travels for work I have seen many large bucks in this area. Extensive target practice with my 58 gives me complete confidence in my ability to shoot. Now,,to get a deer in my sights.

I did not see any deer. My hunting buddy seen one, but no shot. Not to exciting but interesting anyway. Anytime I can take a rifle in any configuration for a long walk in the deer woods is a good time for me.

Had 2 does standing in front of me yesterday morning bad mistake.  Shot one and the other one just stood there dumbfounded so I shot that one also.  Been muzzleloaden for the past 20 years I always manage to get one or two with the muzzleloader.

Yes I did. I like using the old muzzleloader. I tried a in-line they didn't impress me.  I am old fashion I don't considered the inlines muzzleloaders.

Yea I prefer my sidelock and my underhammers too. The NEF huntsman 50 cal I have I mostly now keep for a spare if some one wants to use it and does not have a rifle. Besides I prefer 54 cal which is what my side lock and my underhammer rifles are.

Nothing this year. Several years ago in Clark county I had a group of does walk by about 35-40 yards away. They were all bunched up and I picked out the biggest does and fired with my Enfield muskatoon and a 510 minnie. Had to scramble to get a friend to tag the one behind the one I shot at. Knocked them both down. 2 for 1.
