Looking for PH for African Cape Buffalo Hunt
« on: November 30, 2006, 05:17:11 PM »
I am looking to go on a First Class hunt in Africa primarily for buffalo with my .475 Linebaugh.  I know that many PHs are not excited with this prospect, but nevertheless a trophy bull taken with a revolver will be one hunt to remember.

I invite responses from PHs and those hunters with firsthand knowledge.

Thanks.

Jay

I have no problem setting this up for you. I won't be the PH because I'm booked solid for 2006 with my clients already. My partner has some availability and we can arrange a buffalo hunt no problem.

It will be on a private hunting consession with a privately owned buffalo herd. That will exempt you from the 375HH minimum requirement. My site is www.huntingadventures.net

Visit and see if you want to really go ahead with it. You have limited options with a handgun. Many countries will simply not allow it.

Jim since you're no longer a sponsor please handle future discussions off line. Applies to any other PH that might want to respond to him as well. Your current post is fine to leave Jim. Just make the rest of the dealings off line via PM, e-mail or phone.

NO NO you didn't. It's perfectly acceptable for any GBO member to post here on open forum about their experiences with PH's and it's fine for any PH's here to contact you off line via PM or e-mail to reply to your post. It's just NOT OK for a PH to discuss arrangements for selling you a hunt here if they are NOT a paid advertiser.

Your question is not at all out of line and I'm sure you should get some off line replies from folks who are PH's, no doubt Jim will contact you that way.

BUT my rules are that no one can solict business on the discussion forums unless they are paying advertisers.

I hunted with John Abrhams of Madabula Safaris this April.  He is very familier with handgun hunting and can do a good job for you.  We had 10 hunters, most with handguns and harvested around 50 head of game in 7 days.  Check out the website, look for the Reeder Invitational Hunt Photos

JHT: Go to 24hourcampfire do a search for 24hourcampfire buff hunt and check that out. Price is very reasonable for buff in the 36-38" range with a good safari operator
40"+ buff are getting pretty expensive these days no matter wher you hunt them
booking agent is Mark Claiborne from Washington state aahsomehuntingadventutres.com

I have received two personal e-mails, off of the forum, suggesting either a individual PH or an organization which I should investigate.

With that in mind, thanks to all of you for your considered input.

Lastly, any further suggestions on PHs will still be keenly explored.  These hunts are far too expensive not to investigate all the details and certainly PHs are to be considered much more important to the hunt than to be just considered a detail.

I'll give folks a little time to see this note but next time I visit this thread I'm gonna dump all the extraneous posts having nothing to do with the question asked. Done 12-14-06
