Need 300 Win mag info
« on: December 02, 2006, 05:08:51 AM »
Hello all
I am wanting a hand load for my new 300 Winchester Mag. I have never hand loaded for this round but did read up on it from the internet and a older Nosler manual. The problem is that my older manual does not list any load using Alliant powder. I have Reloader 22 powder and a box of Nosler 180 Partition bullets, Winchester brass and CCI Mag Primers. Would someone please be so kind to share the starting and Max load for this listed in the newer Nosler manual ? I just can’t afford to buy another manual at this time. Thanks so much.

The Nosler 5th edition manual has a starting load for the 300win-mag 180gr. Partition with RL-22
as 71.5 gr. for 2928fps.  Max load is 75.5gr. for 3118fps.  The manual notes that this is the most accurate powder tested , also the max load was the best load for the powder .  just work up slow from start loads and be safe but sounds like max could be a great load .
