The 1-A is the light sporter
1-B is the standard
1-H is the tropical which is the sporter in very large calibers often used in African Safaris.
1-K1-BBZ is the stainless with laminate stock. (the above versions are all available in this model too)
1-RSI is the International full manlicher stocked.
1-S is the medium sporter (slightly heavier barrel, like 1-H)
1-V is the Varmint which has a heavy barrel and no rib.

The #3 is a carbine, which has the forearm held on by a band, and a S style lever, rather than traditional #1 lever setup., and carbine buttplate.
 Hope this helps.

There is also a #3 unofficially called Ruger #2.  It uses the wood from a #1 with a modified underlever. They make a nice short rifle and come in all sorts of old calibers. This model is not made anymore.

Cal 375 Winchester. 1.5-5x Leupold, custom scope blocks.

Modified under lever

Origional underlever.

Don't forget about the K1-A. Those are the Lipsey's specials with stainless steel and walnut, and made in limited runs of less than 250. Calibers so far have been 7.62x39, .257 Roberts, and .35 Whelen.

I have one in 7.62x39, which is an outstanding rifle.

Hope that helps.

Yes, there are numerous special runs that don't fall into normal designations. Like the Lyman Centennial models in 1 of 1000, or 1 of 100 variations.

Is the No.2 an actual Ruger model designation?

I have a No.3 in 30-40 Ackely Improved that appears to have No.1 wood. It is not checkered, but does have the Neidner style butt plate & pistol grip cap. The leveris the standard S lever. The receiver is marked No.3.
