dan wesson 1911 45 acp parts
« on: December 02, 2006, 02:49:04 PM »
Hope any of you can help me with my issue,  This is my first post and after looking around a bit, You all seem more knowledgeabl;e than the people I talked to at Dan Wesson!! Any way here goes.
I have a DW 45acp 1911 I bought used. It has some work done to it. Like a target marrel and some honing on the trigger. I love this gun. It shoots awesome. However,,,,  while shooting one day, The elevation screw came undone and the rear sight fell off. I lost one spring and the screw itself. I ahve 3 phone calls and 2 emails with pics into Dan Wesson repair and they have sent me the wrong screw and spring. I am beginning to think I have an aftermarket upper assembly on this gun as it seem to stump everyone so far,Despite having the DW logo on it. They honestly act like I have the only one in existence.  Here are some pics. has anyone else have one of these?? I need help with a specific part number if at all possible. Thanks in advance

I believe the RZ-7, PMA-S, and the PM7-S came with a Bo-Mar Style Adjustable, you might be able to find a local dealer that can order or has parts for it. What model is the gun you have? The DW 1911 manual only shows fixed sights so it is hard to look up what part number you need.

I guess if I look at the picture closely I think it says PM1-D the PM1-S is also listed as having the Bo-Mar Style Adjustable sights is the D the blued version of that gun.

This Pointman 10mm looks like it has the same rear sight. Sorry I am not more help.

Here is the Pointman page from the old Dan Wesson site showing that rear sight on the PM1-S.
