Scope for Marlin .444
« on: December 03, 2006, 10:13:38 AM »
Thinking about a Nikon Monarch 2-7 or a Zeiss conquest 2-8 to go on my .444 Marlin.I had a Leupold vx 3 1.75-6 on it, which I wasn't happy with.I  have a leu. vx-2 2-7 which I really like also. Need something with 3-4" eye relief & good in low light.

I imagine either scope you mentioned would be great for your 444. I've had a 2x7x32mm scope on mine & it seems to be the perfect combination. FWIW IMHO because of the limited range of the 444 anything past 4 or 5x really isn't needed. I would like to inquire however what you don't like about your Leupold VXIII; why aren't you happy with it?

Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40

Its 4" eye relief and 40mm objective would be absolutely PERFECT for a Marlin 444. ;)

Check and see if Ken Farrell makes a base for the rifle and you will have the ULTIMATE combination!
