Duke rubber jawed traps
« on: April 23, 2003, 06:50:25 PM »
Does anyone here use these? How well do they hold and guard against paw damage?

Thanks

SPW , I did'nt feel quilfied to answer. Being a snareman. But what I see they have been improved.Buy the New model traps. All I did to mine was
#1- tighten the dog eye
#2-drill a hole for the J-hook in the bottom of the frame to center swivel the chain
#3- trash the chain that came with the trap. Then put on 2 links of #2 welded link chain (to the J-Hook that I moved to the center of the frame) added a stock spring 2 more links of chain and then a universal swivel to the end. This gives me 4 swiveling points.
#4 add a washer to the pan bolt and take out the play in the pan
#5 Nite latch the pan and dog.
#6 adjust the pan so it sets leavel.
#7 dip
I used the traps for gray fox. That I was selling to the live market.I think the taps worked good for what I was useing them for.
