cheap deer jerky recipe
« on: December 04, 2006, 02:00:44 PM »
howdy fellers! i need a dirt cheap recipe for a jerky marinade. ill be makeing it in a dehydrater and maybe in the oven. if you gather up most of the ingredients for some recipes you will have quite a bit invested in just the marinade.i have several deer to jerk and am looking for the most economical way to do it.any advice would be appreciated!

just slice it thin put in in your neighbors oven untill it is jerked.offer them some for the use of their oven..I would hope you have some thing to store it in. but cheap would be wrapping it up in plastic grocery bags.maybe even doubling them.must folks that have news papers deliverd should have plenty rubber bands as the papers normally come with a rubber band around it.you can use those to seal the plastic grocery bags.just ask for some..most folks save them.and would be happy to give em to some one that had a use for them..good luck and bon apatite...

if you needed to spice it up. next time you are at a place that sells food ready to eat just ask for extra little packets of pepper and salt, and suger if you get tea or coffee with your meal..pizza places have red pepper packets..you can soak them in water and get the heat to go a little farther..and the chinesse place have little packets of soy sauce if you are in their area..just get a little extra with your meal..

Cheap and easy jerky:

buy one bottle of Dale's liquid seasoning. Cut it 50/50 with water and soak your cut up jerky slices in this mix for several hours. Let meat drain, then pop the pieces in the dehydrator until done. Well seasoned, tasty and cheap. If you use the Dale's straight, it is a little salty for my taste.

Heres my basic recipe.

1 clove garlic or garlic powder
