Huntsman/Sidekick scope question...
« on: December 04, 2006, 04:47:06 PM »
After yesterday's range trip, it was pretty obvious these old eyes were going to have problems beyond 50yds with open sights.

So, if you've scoped your Huntsman/Sidekick:

1.) Did your replace the standard rear stock with a Monte Carlo stock?

2.) What scope are you using?
H&R Ultra Slug Hunter (12 ga.)
NEF SS Sidekick Muzzleloader (50 cal.)
Remington 870 Express (12 ga.)
Stevens 311-H SxS (20 ga.)
CZ 452 American (22lr)

I'm using the standard stock. I also use the NEF hammer spur. The scope is an old 3x9 Redfield Widefield mounted low and works great!
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.

I replaced the stock with a synthetic monte carlo and the scope is a 1.5-5 Simmons pro diamond shotgun scope. I like the lower power and the diamond is a help on quick shots.

I have the Huntsman in stainless steel and one in blue. They both have original factory stocks on them. The SS is synthetic and the blued one is wood. On both, I have mounted 4x fixed simmons pro diamond scopes using high weaver rings and also hammer spurs on both. They both shoot great..... ;)

I have a 3x9x40 Bushnell scope with see-thru rings on my Sidekick (standard stocks). I'm gonna change to high rings tho because the see thru's are too high for me.
