LEUPOLD RETICLE USERS
« on: December 05, 2006, 01:31:10 PM »
I ordered my VX I with a wide duplex reticle. It will be delivered tomorrow. Today I was in my gun store looking through a Leupold and noticed it was just a duplex reticle but seemed to be what I thought I ordered. So having not looked through a wide duplex reticle what makes it different from the regular duplex and which is most people happier with? Thanks for your help and all the feedback you have given me in helping me make this scope purchas.

On the wide duplex the thinner sections on the reticle are wider apart thus more open.

For big game hunting the heavy duplex is fine, the reticle is just thicker then the standard duplex reticle . If one was to target shoot, the fine reticle is a better option. The duplex reticle is the most commonly used for hunting though. It is just personal choice. 95% of my scopes have the duplex reticle, I do have a couple of the heavy duplex reticle scopes.
