Harvested a buitton buck this morning...
« on: December 06, 2006, 04:49:00 AM »
   ...On stand ...at 700 AM....

That buck came mincing out of the woods about about 40 yards to the left of my watch station at the base of a large Maple.

I Leveled the Marlin 336C and touched off a round...one shot, one kill.

That deer did a perfectly complete backflip, 360 degrees and ended up on his belly..same direction he had been heading.

Took him to my friend who processes deer and lives between my woods and Franklinville.

Looks like that 30/30 made mincemeat of the heart/lung area !   ..Using Winchester 170 gr. Power Points...more than enough to do the job superbly..

Put him on my DMU tag, so if I can get out again before Sunday..I can still get a buck.
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Nice job Glow! I'm going out Friday. A couple of guys from work want to do a few drives. It'll be my first time out this year. Been busy!
