No Barrel Markings???
« on: December 08, 2006, 06:42:32 AM »
Maybe I'm missing something here - just got a 10 inch 7-30 Bull Barrel that's supposed to be a Bullberry - there's no markings that I can see, not maker, nor caliber. Is this normal for custom makers?

no....from whom did you purchase it?  I have never seen a blank barrel from any manufacturer..Contender or otherwise..

I had a S.S. bullberry 209x50 and the markings where painted on or something like that not roll stamped or engraved. The markings could have easily been removed if I where not watching what I was using to clean the barrel

Look for "shadowed ink" on the left side. If it's a Bullberry you won't be able to use once fired brass for cases, the diameter at the base of the case will be on spec. not over like a T/C barrel. Standard reloading dies won't resize the base small enough to fit.
