CVA Optima 50 Cal Loading Question?
« on: December 09, 2006, 02:38:58 PM »
Hello. I just recently purchased a CVA 50 Cal Optima. I am using Thompson/Center Shockwave Sabots. When i put the sabot at the top of the barrel i am having a heck of a time getting it down the barrel using my ramrod. Am i doing something wrong here or is there another attachment that needs to go on my ramrod? Thanks for any help!!

You might want to try using different (Thinner )sabot.
Some are thinner than others  and might load easier .
I use a Hornady sabot ( black)and a xtp .45 cal. (452)bullet in my .50Tradition pursuit pro.
But my son uses a xtp .44 cal. (.430)  bullet and a (green )Hornady sabot in .50 cal. CVA optima .
The Smaller bullet and thicker Sabot loaded and shot better in his gun.
