I carry a NECG peep as a back-up when hunting in case I have a problem with the scope. It's a quick release mount on the factory weaver style base. The problem is it still shoots high at the lowest setting, so I need a higher front sight. Plus the factory supplied fiber optic bead is a bit large. The XS sights white line sight looks nice, but I couldn't find the front by itself on brownells. Trying to decide which ramp base to use. I know it needs to fit .875" barrel diameter. Would like to use single 6-48 screw like the original sight. Has anyone done this? Any tips appreciated. Also, can anyone recommend decent aluminum scope rings? I tried the weaver quad locks, but they were out of round and deformed the scope tube. Warne and Leupold rings are super strong and have never even left marks, but they are heavy.
