350yd Ultra 223 shoot.
« on: December 10, 2006, 08:52:31 AM »
After getting nice little groups at 100yds i thought it was time to walk it out a little.

Well my Ultra is most certainly minute of milk jug at 350yd.

Also was able to produce a 2in wide and 6in long 7 shot group with 3 different kinds handloaded ammo.
50gr HP
53gr a-max
55gr FMJ

When the seat of the shooting bench gets dryed out or I bring a mat next time I should do better.

For this time I just pulled the car up next to it and shot off the roof which tested my skills a little.

I was 5 for 5 with the milk jugs just took a little while to wait for the wind too die down between shots.
The 55gr bullets don't stay as straight as the 190gr hp out of my 300win.
This was fun. I've not shoot over 100yd more like 50yds at all this year. Really have only shot my 30-30 this year.
Couple of more trips and it will be time for some varmint hunting.

I posted these awhile back , their from my 223 HB and were shot at 200 yards , which only shows what these rifles can do .

This little rifle inpressed the He&& out of me last year at the PD shoot , once i found out how to dope the wind , it was killing them out to 500 yards , and this year it will be my go-to gun for P-dogs .

On most days if i do my part it will kill tennis balls at 300 with no problem . and it only took about 500 rounds of hand load to find the sweet spot .  ::)

Yup, Deadeye was a great guy wasn't he. I miss him too. It kind of puts things into perspective dosen't it, and makes you think about what's really important. Merry Christmas and a Blessed Holiday to all my buddies here....<><.... :)

I'll look, seems I do, but I didn't find em in my photobucket account, may have lost them to that cursed Hunt101! :'( Seems to me Graybeard talked to or corresponded with the family, maybe he'll check in on it.

If i remeber right when we were at the 05 P. Dog shoot, he said he was leaving the handi's
to his grandson. He was as nice a man you want to be around and talk to.
