From a 223, is there a good bobcat load that doesn't destroy the pelt?
God, Family, and guns, in that order!

I've shot several ranging from 18 lbs to just over 35 lbs with 55g Sierra SP's. My load was pushing them 2700-2800 fps at the muzzle. The ranges have been from very close to maybe 80 yards or so. When they did exit, the holes weren't too big at all, maybe 1". Almost every one either hit the ground hard, or only made it a few yards before piling up.

Handirifle

Like Jerry Lester said, Any 55 gr. soft nose bullet will work at a modest velocity. Bob cats are easier to put down than Coyotes. I use partition bullets if i know a cat is on it's way in but any 55 gr will do........Joe...........

Most places i know about do not allow FMJ bullets for hunting anything. They are fine at the shooting range where you have a back stop but, they are way too dangerous to use in a hunting situation.......Joe......
