NEF 45-70
« on: December 11, 2006, 03:56:28 PM »
I am getting a 45-70 Handi Rifle for christmas. My wife left the recipt where I could find it  :D.Now for my question. My dad had an old Trapdoor Springfield back when I was a kid. Unfortunatly it was stolen along with a number of other guns. We used to shoot 410 shot shells in that old trapdoor. Is that possible in the new rifles?

I hope this doesnt sound to stupid. I was taught the only stupid question was the one not asked.

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't recommend it even if it's physically possible, it's a fine firearm, why shoot what isn't intended to be shot in it. A .410 Pardner can be had for less the $90 new, a whole lot less used, and I can guarantee that it will perform better than shot will perform in the rifled .45-70 bore!  ;)

Rog says it won't work in this thread...

Nevermind about the 45-70, I went out to the vault and dropped a 410 shell into my 45-70 Handi.  Won't work.
