at 8AM i got a call from tom asking if i wanted to go shoot so starlings. I said yeah and he told me to get both my real guns and airguns. he got at my house at 8:20 and i put my noble 40,H&R 852, crosman 766 and 2200. I also had my 380auto in the small of my back. For ammo i had cci Mini-Mag HP,Stinger and Remington .22LR Golden Bullet for my 22, fiochi 12GA game loads,HEVI-Shot® Dead Coyote,Winchester® AA® Target Loads and some old Remington® Pheasant Loads and for the airguns gamo master point in .177 and any .22 pellets i had on hand. Tom asks me if he could use one of my scopes because he had just got a new gun(a Henry Varmint Express ) and he did not have a scope for it yet. I said" Dam you are always asking me for stuff" and i go back inside and get my new 10-40x50mm and tell him he can have it tell i need it. We took a hour for us to get to Pasco and tom stop at walmart for stuff. We ate and load up the food and ammo and start off. When we got to where we were hunting i put out bait and used a crow and mallard call and waited for the birds. A hole lot of starlings showed up and i see tom load a 50 round mag into his 10/22. I asked tom to use his Yardage pro quest and tell me how far it is. It's 49 1/2 yards so i take careful aim and shot and missed tom also fired with his talon and hit. I fired one more time with my airgun and made a body shot. the bird jumped and ran about 10 feet before dieing. I put down the airgun and pick up the .22 bolt and worked the bolt backed on it. I see two at 30 and 5 at 75 and you know what boom head shot, boom head shot, boom head shot i got 5 out of 5 at 75 yards. Tom fires his 10/22 like a machine gun and i fire as fast as i could work the bolt and the black bodies pile up like fire wood. I see two trying to fly away but by droping the 22 and grabbing the noble 40 real fast i killed both with AA loads. We stop shooting and go see how many we killed. I had fired 15 form my 22 bolt and 2 form shotgun and tom had fired 50 and we killed 50 together. Now tom wanted to kill something bigger with his 17HMR so here comes the predator calls. In no time we have two coyotes coming in for a look. The older looking one stops at 100 yards and the small one right up to 20 yards and i killed the small one with toms talon and tom drops the other with his 17Hmr. As i got up two FWC cops asked to see the guns and called to check if we could use airguns for them. For non-game it's all right and tom goes talk to them for about 3 Min's and tom tell me after talking to them they told him there is lots of coons in the area and they have been trying to get hunter to kill some off. Tom says he could use some coon furs so want i kill give it to him, i said alright and form 3-7PM it was coon killing time. In the end of the day i had killed 25 with 22LR,6 with shotgun, and 3 with airguns at 10-30 yards. Tom killed 55 with 17HMR, 60 with 10/22, 30 with his shotgun, 20 with his talon and 10 with my 852(he ran out of ammo). It was a good hunt. We start with starlings and ended with coons and i got a alright yote pelt.
