buckenbass,
I did one similar for my brother but I made it a permanent barrel by silver-soldering it together after threading it together. He had ordered a .357 maximum barrel just before the fire at Thompson - I had a spare short barrel and he bought a 35 caliber rifle barrel. Not a tough job - and it shot better than the 357 custom barrel that he got from TC. I think the faster twist gave him better accuracy even with the 158 grain bullets that he uses.

Hodgdon, Lyman, Speer, Sierra, Hornady = reliable resources
so and so's pages on the internet = not reliable resources
Alway check loads you find on the internet against manuals.

If you notice they are all fairly light calibers. I would not want to do this in a high preasure, larger case round. Then again I'm not sure what you would be gaining by doing this in the first place. Seems like it would be cost prohibitive unless you have your own machine shop. I suppose if you had some old barrels lying around that were going to waste it might be a fun project.  KN
