Which one do like like the best.
Myself I have a TC New England 50 cal sidelock.  I had  tried a inline they do not impress me to much like a regular deer rifle.

I only have an in-line but I've got an Austin Halleck sidelock coming in.  For me a gun (or bow or whatever) is just a tool that lets me hunt.  I'll use whatever is legal and have never felt handicapped by the weapon I've had in my hand.

I like the side lock 54 cal  and the underhammers (54 cal rifle and 12 guage shotgun)  I built just because I built them they may not look like the ones the muzzle loader gunsmiths make as I added no embelishments on my side lock and my underhammers are my design but they shoot very well and I made them.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I have a NEF Huntsman  50 cal that is a nice gun but I prefer the ones I built. The rifles I built have Green Mountain barrels which are excellent barrels.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

I'll chime in! I'm a TC and traditional lock person... having 3'em, a TC Black Mtn Mg in 54, a TC New Englander in 12 ga and TC Patriot in 45. I do like my musket caps over #11's and I also use Goex powder.

My TC NE 12 ga has the best bragging rights...  I scored twice on Turkeys in two years. What a hooot, Eastern Turkeys with no choke!

Dad started us(4 brothers) on BP first even before 22's. Flich-locks are fun too... but alot of work to em in flints.
