Norinco NS522

I have been told the Norinco model NS522 (an Anschutz copy with heavy tapered barrel) is a very accurate rifle with a good trigger.  My intended purpose for such a rifle is Metallic Silhouette competition.  Recently I located a like/new rifle for about $285 including the shipping.  Does anyone have experience with the NS522?  How does it compare to the CZ 452 Varmint?  Do you think $285 is a good price?

I have owned both.  Still have a norinco.  My advice is spend the difference and buy a CZ 452.  Another good choice if you can locate one at a gun show would be the Remington 581.  They can be had for around $ 150 sometimes.  sltexas

I erred in this post,  I was confusing the jw15 and then NS 522.   The 522 is a decent shooting rifle, if you can work the trigger over.  I have had three three of these in the past and all had good accuracy.
The JW 15 on the other hand will shoot well enough, but not outstanding.   I believe that I still would rather have the CZ 452 though.

I got one when they first came out. Trigger was sweet and didn't seem like the 4.5 lbs it was. My smith stoned it to under three lbs and it is fine. They are great guns - wood and steel. Weight can be an issue when it comes to scope selection. I ended up with a 24x Fixed Tasco and was two ounces under the limit with the empty magazine. Haven't shot for years and will try to use a Simmons 6-18AO Air gun scope until I get my wobble down. I'm not consistant with my positioning but lots of practice got me to AA with this gun. You need two magazines - ask how many come with the gun. I believe they are scarce because the gun was only sold briefly.
