How rare are these.What kind of money would i be lookin to have to spend to get one?

Personally, I wouldn't pay more for a .280 than I would for a .270. Is 0.007 of an inch that meaningful to you?

You were right, they do seem pretty hard to find on purpose. Did you end up getting the one you were looking at?

I own a BAR in 280, I bought it new in 1988.  I love the caliber, love BAR's, but am not impressed with the accuracy of my gun.  I have tried more powder, primer and bullet combinations than you can shake a stick at and have had trouble getting much better than a 1.5 to 2 inch group out of it.  If I wait a minute or so between shots I do have some 5 shot groups that are under an inch. 

I have never seen another one in .280 and would be interested in seeing what they would bring.  Does anybody know?  Maybe those guns in odd calibers will never bring anymore money.
