Tasco Pro Point Help

I have one mounted on my Ruger Gov't model pistol and it was working absolutely great.  It is about 10 years old.

This evening I decided to take out the pistol after 4 years in storage and get ready to start shooting again.  The strangest thing has happened to the red dot ..... it looks like a small ball of lint and kind of like the surface of the moon.  It just is not crisp and clear as it was.  Has this happened to anyone?  The glass is clean and the battery is fine.

I am stumped.

I have had it happen also. I used it until the dot quit working.
