Any exp. with this model? I saw a 170 carbine in 30-30 at the lasdt gun show .Looked to be in good shape, seller was asking $170.

I would have bought it for that.  Don't see them very often

 Instead of buying the 170 ,I got a Nova 20ga. pump.I wished I had gotten the 30-30.

I'm still lookin' for one, they were plentyful around here 10 years ago, but the supply dried up. I'd really like one in .35 Remington though.  :(

If it was in good shape I would have bought it at that price with no second thoughts, I would have tried to haggle because it was a gun show after all but if the seller wouldn't budge I would have paid the price.  I too would prefer a 35 but like you said the rifles and especially the carbines are drying up so the next decent one I see at a fair price I plan on getting.  Everyone I have fooled with have been really good shooters, carry well and are reliable, I should have bought one a long time ago.

The Model 170 is a pump action based on one of the shotgun Models, although I forgot just which one.  ;)

have one at a gun shop for about 6 months now while he struggles trying to get it to cycle properly. Shells jam on the way up from the magazine and I messed with it a bunch trying to get the little zig zag spring right////any thoughts?
