does anyone know the barrel diameter for the 700 classic in 8mm

is it .318 or .323.  I'm thinking about getting one but it depends on the diameter.

The .318 bore diameter was on the first Mausers made a century ago. I don't recall when they changed to .323 but it was in the early 1900s. The WWll vinatge Mausers were made in the .323 bore. The reason American made 8X57 ammoe is loaded so lightly is the liability issue of someone using .323 bore ammoe in .318 bore rifles.
