Can i use any rings or just Ruger's supplied rings on new M77?

Am i limited to using the factory rings that come with the M77s or can i use Burris signature? I didnt know if the rings are specially designed for Rugers.

IIRC---Burris and Leupold---and maybe Warne make rings for the Ruger system.

So NO---you can't just use any old rings----but you do have some choices----just make sure you get rings that mount to the Ruger system.

Thank you. Do you know if i can get the signature rings for it? I cant find any info on the signature rings for the 77. I really like the inserts advantage .  Also,how good are the Ruger factory rings?

I always lap my rings (except the Burris Signature). I have found that the Ruger Rings usually lap very evenly. I have yet to find a set that is not close in alignment

I think the Ruger rings are excellent as they are - as always, lapping is a good thing. Signature rings are also excellent. I checked the Burris web site and as I interpret it, you cannot get Ruger style Signature rings. But they make a Ruger to Weaver adaptor, which allows you to clamp the adaptor onto the Ruger receiver, and then use Weaver style rings (Burris Zee style Signatures).  So - using that adaptor, you could use Signatures with the inserts.  I really do like the Signatures, but I have several Ruger rifles that I have had such good results with Ruger rings with, that I have used the Ruger factory rings and am pleased with my choice to do so.  The Ruger setup is an excellent one as it comes from the factory.  On my Ruger #1s, I use offset Ruger rings for eye relief issues.  There are some good choices available, no matter which you prefer.  Good shootin'!

You can find replacement rings, Midway has them and Cabela’s may have them but they are rather pricey.  You can also get an adapter that allows you to use Weaver style rings but again it will not be cheap.  If you have the original Ruger rings they are of good quality and unless there is a real reason not to use them, why not go ahead and use them.
